It’s Small Business Saturday!
Today we are featuring a long time client and friend of Howste, Dr. Cynthia Seebacher, D.C.
She is a Chiropractor and Massage Therapist local to Marietta who has been a supporter and client for many years! We love her and love working with her.
Happy #SmallBusinessSaturday!

5 Ways to Video Safely

During our new #socialdistancing people are finding new ways to communicate. This comes with its own dangers. Often times when it’s a new technology that we aren’t used to using, we aren’t aware of the complications. Of course if you still have questions or want to know more you can go to our website, https://bit.ly/39OZpsW and ask questions.
Since not everyone knows how to play nice, here are a few tips on how to make sure that you are taking extra measures to protect yourself and your piers while on a video conference call.

  1. Do not make the meetings or classroom public. Most software has the options to make a meeting private: require a meeting password or use the waiting room feature and control the admittance of guests.
  2. Do not share a link to a video or classroom on an unrestricted publicly available social media post. Provide the link directly to specific people.
3. Manage screensharing options. Most software has the option to change screensharing to “Host Only.”
  4. Ensure users are using the updated version of the remote access/meeting application. In January, 2020, Zoom updated their software. In their security update, the teleconference software provider added passwords by default for meetings and disabled the ability to randomly scan for meetings to join.
  5. Lastly, ensure that your organization’s telework policy or guide addresses requirements for physical and information security.

If you were a victim of a conference hijacking, or any cyber-crime for that matter, report it to the FBI’s Website at https://bit.ly/1tylJ5B .
